The 3-Circle Model

The Three-Circle Model clarifies, in simple graphic terms, the three overlapping and interdependent groups of the family business system: the family, the owners, and the business. These three overlapping groups encompass what we call the family business system.

In each family business system, the three groups overlap and as a result create seven constituent groups, each with its own short-term sub groups, perspective and dynamics. In our work assisting business families, OMBI addresses the legitimate concerns and needs of each of these groups, and helps to unite them around a common purpose and standards for the business and family.

We are expert at identifying and resolving the issues within these three groups, especially where these circles overlap. We work with business families to create systemic strategies that respond to the goals and needs of the family, business and owners.
